Before you decamp, please consider nominating one of your peers–or even yourself–for ABC’s Outstanding Teacher Award.  The nomination process is easy: simply write Marilyn Dryud a letter on your institutional letterhead that extols the teaching virtues of your candidate and send it  either via snail mail or as a .pdf attachment: marilyn.dyrud@oit.edu.

BCQ Themed Section on Teaching Writing

Papers Due: January 15, 2012

Good writing instruction involves more than printing out a detailed assignment sheet or requiring revisions.  Have you used particular teaching strategies that worked better than others? Does a specific classroom exercise produce unusually good results? Have students had a “wow” moment when they learned something they hadn’t expected. If you have an approach, exercise, or strategy for teaching writing that has worked well, the readers of BCQ would like to know. Please share your experience with them.
